June/July Rovings

Each of these rovings comes in a four ounce balls.  The fiber is dyed before it is carded into roving to ensure there will be no matting caused when fiber is dyed after it is carded.  All of the alpaca and wool used is from Michigan herds and flocks.  The fiber was washed with an organic soap and dyed with Jacquard Acid Dyes using Citric Acid to set the color.  Each batch is done only once, so if you find a color and blend you like, please make sure to purchase enough for the project you have in mind.  It is unlikely that any blend will be repeated.  These roving are only sold in the four ounce balls.  Cost is $32.00 per pound or $8.00 per ball.  Orders of over 5 pounds or 20 balls total (can be multiple colors) will recieve free shipping.

These rovings are sized so that they can be knitted directly from the roving using the patterns found on the knitting patterns page.

Bright Green Varigated Roving is a blend of three shades of green with flecks of turquoise
throughout. It is a blend of domestic fine wools and is suitable for either spinning or felting.
Fiber length is approx 2 to 3 inches.

My camera refuses to see this one as the purple it actually is.  I have tried numerous times to make
it see this as a very deep varigated purple and lavendar. so if you need to see this one before you
purchase, please let me know and I can send you a sample.  Again it is a blend of multiple shades of
purple and lavender. It is a blend of 25% alpaca and 75% fine wool  There is white alpaca throughout
the roving so it will spin up very heathered. Fiber length is 2 to 3 inches and is suitable for both spinning
and felting.

Dark Green Varigated Roving is a blend of three shades of green with flecks of gold, blue and brown
throughout. It is a blend of domestic fine wools and is suitable for either spinning or felting.
Fiber length is approx 2 to 3 inches.

Medium blue varigated roving is a blend of three shades of blue - very light, medium sky blue and
dark sky blue. It is 25% Alpaca and the balance is fine wool.  Fiber length is 3 to 4 inches.
It is suitable for either spinning or felting.

This is a very pale turquoise fine wool and alpaca  blend.  The wool fibers in this blend a only 1 to 2 inches
long but the alpaca is 3 plus inches long.  This may make it a chalenge to spin but it will make great felt.
The color was created from a turquoise exhaust dye pot.

This is a dark turquoise roving which blends 30% alpaca with fine wool.  Fiber length 3 to 4 inches and will spin up
as a very rich deep toned yarn.

This roving is blend of 40% natural brown alpaca with 60% dyed purple fine wool.  Fiber length 3 to 4 inches.
Suitable for both spinning and felting.

Don't forget the men in your life.  This deep rich forest green and brown roving will spin up into a
very dark manly roving but at the same time it has a little more punch than a single color roving.
It is 100% fine wool.  Fiber length 2.5 to 3 inches.  This roving will also knit up into great slippers.

This is another deep, rich roving which is a blend of dark royal blue fine wool and black alpaca in
equal parts. There is some varigation in the blue which will add depth to the finished yarn.  Fiber
length 3 inches.  Suitable for both spinning and felting.

Lets have some fun with orange.  This fine wool roving can either be spun or felted into some great fall projects.
Fiber length 2.5 to 3 inches.

Then there is pink for the girly girls.  This is a blend of 30% alpaca with the balance fine wool in a
varigated blend of pinks and white to give you a very wonderful femine pink yarn or felt.
Fiber length 2.5 to 3 inches.

If you enjoy spinning a fine yarn, this is the roving for you.  It is a blend of 50% Natual colored
Shetland wool with a mix of red, blue and purple dyed alpaca.  Fiber length 3 to 4 inches of very fine, minimum crimp fibers.

For those of you who would like to work with natural colored wool, we also have a few colors of natural
colored 100% Shetland wool from the sheep that live at the mill.  Fiber length 3 to 4 inches. This is from
the less crimpy Shetland wool type and spins easily into a very fine yarn.  We have creamy white, two shades
of light grey, a light grey/brown and a light brown.
